Hello my friends,
We're having amazing bright days here in Michigan, and the sunshine, the fair
weather, almost seems like an affront. When we are all in mourning, shouldn't
the sky be crying too? It just doesn't seem right somehow that the world goes on…
I must say that I felt paralyzed for a couple of days… thinking about this
heinous action, the pain of those who lost loved ones, the fear about what is
coming next- it caused me to just shut-down. And that is something I wanted to
address this month. How do we go forward when events in our lives or the world
make us fell helpless?
Of course, taking action is a wonderful cure for helplessness. Here I am, a
country mouse, far from New York and Washington and it isn't realistic for me to
think I can join in as part of a rescue team. How can I keep this from defeating
me? I can make a donation. Here are some links from Yahoo to help with
that.
Red Cross National Disaster Relief
Fund
Salvation Army Disaster Relief
Effort
New York State World Trade Center Relief
Fund
NY Firefighter's 9-11 Relief
Fund
What can we do beyond donations? How can we feel that we are helping somehow, or
at least somehow offsetting all this anguish that has been unleashed from
Pandora's box? There are tangible actions we can take. Raise a flag to show
compassion and support. Combat the darkness with candles. (Blue candles are an
especially fine choice as they symbolize healing.) Use the flame to send good
wishes, and strong and healing thoughts.
But the best way to obliterate evil is to bury it in good. Act in kind and
loving ways in honor of the people who are gone. Live our lives in the most
honorable and strongest way we can- being kind to others, and demanding the best
from ourselves- because we now are living for them, too. As a memorial, we
should use this as turning point, to be better people, so there can be some kind
of goodness and hope that has a seed in this tragedy.

This month's Tarot Reading for the Free drawing I've chosen because I feel it's
good for this point in time, it's The Past, Present, and Future Reading. The
cards look at the past, and how it has influenced the present, and gives hope
and advice for the future. It's a $40.00 reading, and the details about it are
here.
This is how to enter to win a Free Past, Present, Future reading. Send your
email address to pesky@atasteoftarot.com, with "Tarot drawing" in the
subject line. (One entry per person is sufficient.) I'll choose one winner in a
random drawing on Monday, Sept. 24, 2001. Are you feeling ready for a reading?

register and my car- I
practically turned my purse inside out, but I swear, it was like it slipped into
the Twilight zone!
I hope all of you are handling
the season a little better than I. Right
now I’m reminding myself that everything WILL get done, to take deep breaths,
and to concentrate on making this a season of joy.
However you celebrate this time of year, don’t let stress override the
fun!
Speaking yone!
And until next month, best wishes to all of you,
Pesky
