Persephone and the Equinox-
My Dad is a great
storyteller. Persephone (also Pandora's Box..<grin> ) was my
favorite story Dad told me at bedtime as a child. And my
mama was a champion of odd fruits and veggies, she often bought Pomegranates.
The ruby fruit looked like jewels to my child's eyes. That made
the story even more compelling. To be tripped up by such a teeeeny
tinnnny bite...

Because the Earth tilts back and forth on its axis,
relative to the Sun, the Celestial Equator (blue in this diagram) and
the Ecliptic (red) are usually at an angle to one another. Twice a year,
though, the Equator and the Ecliptic line up with one another, as shown
here. This event is termed an 'Equinox'.
Moon
Phase Tarot
Reading
The layout is preceded by a thorough
Overview, a narrative in which I study the layout and relationships between the cards. This
is where I really dig in, and look at the relationships between the
cards, and the special meanings the cards take on because of their
positions. The overview is something many clients say keeps giving them
information for some time to come.... It keeps unfolding for
them. After the overview, is the layout...
Card 1- Refers to what's past, what's left behind by the passing phase.
Card 2- Looks at the
lingering influences from the waxing or waning phase?
Card 3-
Examines what's coming up,
what's in store with the moon changes, the next moon phase?
Card 4- Expectations and
concerns that will come into play with the new phase.
Card 5- The
overall lesson to be
learned, the theme for this phase of the moon.
A five card lay-out with a thorough narrative overview, for
