The water is so clear you can see schools of  fish, invariably Bass,  swimming by...


The trees sweep down to the  shore- wispy Tamaracks, White Pine, and Spruce, a million shades of green reaching to the sky, and reflected in the water...

The lake is practically untouched by humans, when a tree falls above water it becomes a bleached skeleton.  Or, partially submerged it looks like a beady-eyed alligator lolling in the shadows.  Or, it takes on new life, becoming the foundation for sundews, and other boggy, water-loving plants. 


There are Pitcher Plants (see below) all around the lake, which are a rare plant.  Mama always treasured them, and she'd be happy to know there's a bumper crop this year.
